EE Mission Day 3 - Appointment!

Today we had our appointment with the Department of Adoptions. In and out in about 15 minutes. The social worker that attended asked for us to describe what we did (for a living), why we wanted to adopt 2 children with Down syndrome, and would we know how to take care of them.

We found out that we will be going to see Gayle first. We leave tomorrow night by train for the city her orphanage is located.

15 minutes? YAY! Love and prayers as you travel and meet your sweet girl! Anxious to hear how your time with the Bible Orphan Ministry folks went. Enjoy your time with those precious brothers and sisters.

Corey and Stephanie, my emails to you are coming back to me, so I am trying to get through to you this way. I am SO THRILLED for you to be so close to getting your little treasures, and will be praying for you as you embark on this next stage of the journey! God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

Praying for you, the kids and grandparents. Evan told me you were leaving at SS on the 4th. Praying things are still going smooth over there. God Bless

The orphan crisis: what can we do to help?

Learn about struggles of orphaned children then share what you learn with others. A simple Google search on the phrase "Orphan Care" will get you started.

Pray. Ask for the Lord's protection and provision for these little ones. Pray for them to be rescued. Pray for families who are adopting. Pray for the governments of the countries where they reside. Pray for the people devoting their time and energy to finding families and for those who visit the orphanages and minister to the orphans.

Adopt. Open your heart and your home to a child in need of a family. One statistic I read said that if 6-7% of Christians would adopt that would provide homes for all of the adoptable orphans. I don't know if that statistic is accurate. Look into it and see what you learn.

Advocate. Pick a child and hold them up for the world to see. Share pictures and any information you can get. Let everyone see that this child is a real child who needs a real family. Raise funds for the child's adoption.

Support. Put money into child grants on Reece's Rainbow. Give to an adopting family. Sponsor an orphan. Support missionaries who visit orphans and show them the love of Christ.
